Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy uses the power of music to enrich the lives of others by delivering music therapy sessions with over 200 partner organisations across the UK. In 2020, their Carol Service partnered with Hipgnosis, London Stock Exchange, OpenExchange, SSE, YouTube, Scala Radio and Modern English to bring the event online for the first time in its 24-year history. Usually ticketed, the partnerships enabled the event to be free to view and therefore fully accessible and inclusive, sharing the gift of music with a global audience. Hosted by Nile Rodgers, the event used musical entertainment as its focus with performances from legends such as Sir Cliff Richard, Mica Paris, Roger Daltrey and Paul Weller, Florence Welch, Robbie Williams, Neil Young, and many more brought together by the partners. Nordoff Robbins was able to use the opportunity to showcase the breadth of its work through case study storytelling woven into the programme. Through the partnerships, the special evening increased the charity's supporter base by thousands, increased its reach with audiences outside the music industry, and raised over £300,000 to ensure Nordoff Robbins continues to deliver music therapy to vulnerable children and adults across the UK.
